The aim of the lecture is to unpack the interconnections between globalised industrial livestock productions food regimes, land and livelihoods of farmers. We do so by reviewing empirical evidence on poverty implications for farmers who engage in globalised livestock production systems. Particular attention is paid to power dynamics and conditionalities extended on farmers by such food regimes. Further, we discuss land use change due to industrialisation of livestock systems. Finally, potential policy implications of industrialisation on land use change and poverty are highlighted.
